Philo of Byzantium wrote of Oak Gall Ink in 217BC and told about how one would write with one substance and on coating with another the text would be revealed.
Pliny the Elder and the Roman poet Ovid also mentioned secret inks.

The object of this kit is for each student to study fractions in Ancient Egypt to complete the fractions on their papyrus and then write their name in Hieroglyphs.

The students design their own business card and write their name on their card. The kit comes with an information sheet about parchment and a Latin text alphabet so they can write their name in old latin. You may choose to use any ancient alphabet that you find applicable. You could write in Koine Greek and have the students swap cards and try to work put which one belongs to who.
