Plaque of the Royal Scribe Hesire
Hesire was the royal overseer of scribes during the period of Pharaoh Djoser. He lived 2700-2650BC and held a highly exalted position, his burial mastaba containing various panels displaying his image and information about him. This plaque shows him holding the tools of his trade: the pen holder, palette, and accessory bag, as well as a long staff and a scepter of his authority. He was also a dentist or overseer of dentists. The hieroglyphs above his head show the sign for scribe. This a reproduction of one of six panels found in his mastaba. 70x195mm.

from Tutankhamun's Tomb
Leopard skin cloaks were worn by Egyptian High Priests for certain ceremonies, by for example the "setem" who had important duties in funerary ceremonies. In Tutankhamun's reign the old order was restored and leopard skin clad priests were allowed to function, as seen in the paintings on the wall of Tuts tomb where Ay is shown wearing the cloak. Several leopard skin cloaks were found in the tomb, along with false leopard heads like this. It was made of wood covered with gesso plaster and gilded. The eyes were made of transparent quartz, and the other details picked out in blue glass.
This reproduction is an oversize example cast in plaster.
